Truer Words from Frank Darabont

Share

I’ve been struggling to figure out what the heck I’m doing lately. I’m completely aggravated with the script I’ve been trying to write and daydreaming about other ideas, but I don’t think they’ll satisfy me either. As far as writing something with an eye toward selling it, I think I’ve lost hope. And with that comes a complete disinterest in writing at all. I don’t seem satisfied by just doing it for myself anymore, I’ve proved the point to myself. So now what?

I don’t have an answer yet, but, while looking, I found a very inspirational column by Frank Darabont, the filmmaker of my favorite movie of all time, The Shawshank Redemption. Which is, interestingly enough, about one man who has lost hope and one who never does. Check it out here.

Thanks for posting that.  Really cool.  However, when will people wake up and realize that Green Mile is better than Shawshank!!!!!  Read the novella and reaize he fucked up what could have been brilliant.

Wow that’s really cool.  I finally had the time to read it.  So basically it’s telling me to quit and work on Burger King… fuck!
