Let Me In writer-director Matt Reeves will write and direct a feature for Universal based on John Carpenter’s They Live. That 1988 film was based on the Ray Nelson short story “Eight O’clock in the Morning” and hinged on one man’s sudden discovery that aliens walk among us.
Carpenter’s film, which starred pro wrestler Roddy Piper and Keith David, became notorious for the five-minute fight scene between the stars. In that version, Piper finds a pair of sunglasses that allow him to see the aliens underneath human skins.
