Soundtrack of the Week: Independence Day
I absolutely loved many of the Stargate riffs, and so did trailer editors as it was everywhere for a while, but it wasn’t until Independence Day that I became enamored with David Arnold’s scores. There’s so many great sequences, from the opening through the climactic fighter attack scene, and there’s a hint of Stargate here and there which makes it all worth it. Definitely give the International Code track a listen, it’s one of my favorites… and as you may or may not know, it was the pivotal Presidential speech that motivated me to ask out a girl at the now defunct XS, so that music still moves me. Give it a listen, even though they screwed up the Artist:
