‘The Backrooms’ Creator to Direct A24 Horror Flick Starring Chiwetel Ejiofor & Renate Reinsve

A24 just signed horror prodigy Kane Parsons to direct The Backrooms, making him the youngest helmer in the studio’s history at just 19 years old. This sci-fi horror feature stars Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) and Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World). Production begins this summer, backing Parsons’ viral YouTube series (it’s amassed over 190 million views) with substantial support from A24, Atomic Monster, 21 Laps, and Chernin Entertainment.
