An upcoming film project reuniting producer Jerry Bruckheimer with Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is generating out-of-this-world interest. Several major film companies are battling to win the package, which includes writer Zach Baylin. Described as similar to “All the President’s Men” but with UFOs, the project features the expert insight of former USA Air Force officer and UFO whistleblower, David Grusch.

A cinematic collaboration between Jerry Bruckheimer and Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski is generating buzz that is beyond terrestrial boundaries.

Several major players are competing to secure the package, which also includes screenwriter Zach Baylin, known for his work in films such as Will Smith’s King Richard, Creed III and last year’s intense Jude Law feature, The Order, which dealt with white supremacy.

Among the studios jockeying for the project are Amazon, Apple, Lionsgate, Paramount and Warner Bros, sources reveal that bidding now is feverish and on the rise.

The details of the project remain shrouded in mystery but it’s been likened to All the President’s Men but with an interstellar twist. The budget is uncertain, but approval to go ahead with the project is being sought, claims an anonymous source. The project currently does not have any stars linked to it.

One of the factors contributing to the projected demand is the authenticity promised by the pitch. Acting as an advisor for the project is a former United States Air Force officer and well-known UFO informant, David Grusch. Grusch captured media attention in 2023 when he claimed before Congress that the government has been investigating alien spacecraft and extraterrestrial bodies while stifling any leaks on the subject.

The synergy between Kosinski and Bruckheimer has previously proven to be extremely successful. Despite a lengthy development phase, the sequel to Bruckheimer’s 1986 blockbuster Top Gun premiered over Memorial Day weekend in 2022, ultimately earning billions worldwide and receiving six Oscar nominations, including a win for best sound. The film, starring Tom Cruise, boosted the careers of co-stars Glen Powell, Miles Teller and current Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro, and played a significant role in revitalizing the cinema industry post the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kosinski’s upcoming film is a motor racing feature led by Brad Pitt, titled F1, produced by both Apple and Warner Bros. This film is scheduled for a June release and again teams him up with Bruckheimer as a producer. Kosinski’s prior directorial exploits include Netflix’s 2022 psychological thriller Spiderhead, featuring Chris Hemsworth and Teller, as well as Only the Brave (2017), Oblivion (2013) and Tron: Legacy (2010).
