In a thunderous announcement, Apple TV+ unveiled its first look at its colossal new series, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.”

Monarch Legacy of Monsters

A part of Legendary’s thrilling MonsterVerse, this fictional universe brings together the likes of Godzilla, King Kong, and other Toho Co. characters. The new series roars to life in the aftermath of a cataclysmic battle that not only leveled San Francisco but left the world stunned with the revelation that monsters are, indeed, real.

Hollywood legend Kurt Russell and his real-life son Wyatt Russell are teaming up to play the older and younger versions of Army officer Lee Shaw. It’s a family affair that delves into a world filled with gargantuan creatures and secret organizations.

Anna Sawai, a rising star known for her elegance and grace, joins the cast, along with the versatile Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.

This series is no small feat and requires a monstrous collaboration between some of the industry’s most creative minds. Co-developed by Chris Black of “Severance” fame and the renowned Matt Fraction, known for his work on “Hawkeye,” the duo has joined forces to breathe life into this exciting universe.

Matt Shakman, who masterfully directed “WandaVision,” takes the helm for the first two episodes, adding his touch of magic to a world already brimming with wonder and awe.

The MonsterVerse is no stranger to success, with titles like “Godzilla” (2014), “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” (2019), and “Godzilla vs. Kong” (2021) already earning roars of approval from fans worldwide.

“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” is poised to be the next epic chapter in this saga, with a storyline that spans generations, tantalizing secrets, and, of course, monster-sized entertainment.
