We thought the first “Meg” missed the mark, but we’re suckers for giant sharks, so excited to see the official trailer for “Meg 2: The Trench” as the successor to the 2018 smash hit takes monstrous action to a whole new level, plunging deeper with the introduction of colossal Megs and an array of exciting surprises.

Dive into the abyss with action superstars Jason Statham and Wu Jing, who lead a fearless research team into the most profound depths of the ocean. As their expedition is disrupted by a sinister mining operation, they’re forced into a desperate fight for survival. Outpacing gigantic Megs and battling unyielding environmental exploiters, our heroes must strategically maneuver their way through this heart-stopping, high-stakes adventure.

Warner Bros. Pictures and CMC Pictures present “Meg 2: The Trench,” featuring Statham and Jing, alongside a talented cast that includes Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Skyler Samuels, and Cliff Curtis. Directed by Ben Wheatley, the film is based on Steve Alten’s novel, The Trench.
