A brief recap of what’s been going on in the world of TRON’s future…
-The third TRON film. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, the “Lost†writers/executive producers who worked on “Legacy,†have begun writing a sequel to the studio’s new sci-fi tentpole. No details have been released because it is so early in the process. Insiders have suggested that Kitsis and Horowitz are working on a way to round the story into a trilogy. (heatvision)
-New TV series based on the world of Tron. Blue Sky Disney has revealed that the show will indeed be a CGI animated series. This series will be released between the first film and the second film.
-Theme Park changes. Tomorrowland is going to get a Tron facelift. There are parts of these areas that are going to get thematic makeovers. WDW’s 2 Tronorails are now making their journies around EPCOT and there may be a few west coast ones as well as the rumored re-theming of STARCADE as FLYNN’S ARCADE. (GT)
-Disney is definitely talking about a developing a Tron attraction/ride for the theme parks — apparently they are working on concepts right now. This won’t hit the theme parks until at least 2012. But it’s been described as “pure, Disney spectacle and absolute techno-geek magic.” (GT)
