At the Sarajevo Film Festival, Gillian Anderson spoke about reprising Agent Scully for a third X-Files film. She said:
“Of course I would accept to play in a new (third) X-Files movie.”
She went on to say that there is a third film in the works and it should go into production in 2012.

Noooooo! The last film raped the X-Files and left it for dead, don’t come back now and pick at its rotting corpse! I’ll take my Sci-Fi (ohhhh sorry “SyFy” …” So-gay”) reruns at 2am that’s all the X-Files I need. Luckily we’ll all be dead before it hits theaters since its not even going into production till 2012.
