This year, each wave of Hasbro’s line of star wars figures, which celebrate the 30th anniversary, will feature a figure based on Ralph McQuarrie’s conceptual drawings for “Star Wars.”

The McQuarrie Stormtrooper is already out as part of the first wave.  The second will feature Boba Fett, and the third is a pretty elfish lookin’ Chewbacca.

This set of figures, featuring McQuarrie’s original designs for 3PO and R2, will be the exclusive action figure available at this year’s Celebration IV convention.

Last time, their figures were limited to 4 per customer.  Not sure what the limit is this time.  But I’m buyin’ how ever many they will sell me.

Chris and I are scheduled (yes, you can schedule) to hit the store on day one from 6pm – 9pm.  Not an ideal time, but it was the best we could get.  I’m quite sure they would not run out of figures, but we might miss out on other cool stuff, like exclusive diapers and beach ball cozies.

Anyway, these will be a hot toy – anyone going to the con should cerainly pick them up.  Keep one for yourself, and you can barter with retailers on the convention floor with the rest of your quarry.

Most retailers will trade high value items for convention exclusive figures, due to their limited supply.  So if you choose wisely, you could get some very awesome bargains!

(I remember Chris and I bought a ton of exclusives at C3 and then traded some for lotsa cool loot!)

How did you schedule that time? Is there a site I can go to to sign up?

If you are a hyperspace fan club member, you can schedule a time online, and be able to go to this first day of the con (non-fan-club-members go on Friday instead of Thursday).

Though being that you work at RC, I hear Seth is getting VIP passes for everyone.  I didn’t want to count on that, though – just in case it don’t happen.

    Anyway, you can go here:
