Some nifty key art for Tim Burton’s SWEENEY TODD: THE DEMON BARBER OF FLEET STREET just appeared in the Hollywood trade papers, and we thought we’d give you a gander. As the billing block reveals, Burton’s feature version of the Steven Sondheim musical stars some of the director’s usual rogue’s gallery of actors, like Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Christopher Lee (unannounced until now!). Alan Rickman and Sasha Baron Cohen round out the impressive cast. Working from a script by John (THE AVIATOR) Logan, the film places Depp in the role of the titular barber whose vengeful m.o. combines murder and cannibalism. Shooting began last week for this Dreamworks/Warner Bros. production; expect to see it by late 2008.
