Heart is Deceitful Above All Things

Good for Asia Argento. What a vast improvement from her first film Scarlett Diva. Not a wonderful film because it is obvious that she is going for shock value the entire time. And it keeps us from really believing the situation and characters. Acting is great though. Cinematography is gorgeous. And the film is full of cameos… Peter Fonda, Marilyn Manson, Michael Pitt and others.

Now this film would just be mediocre if it wasn’t for one scene that makes me have to recommend it to everyone. It is the Marilyn Manson scene. She does something here that I think is totally original. I can’t give it away because it’ll be a spoiler but trust me…very original concept.

One more thing…the film is dedicated to Jean-Yves Escoffier. He was working on the pre-production of the film when he died in 2003. He also shot Gummo. If you like the look of Gummo, you will like the look of this film.

And one more thing. Props go out to Asia for being the hottest director in the world. That’s an accomplishment all on its own.

What a title!  Argento needs to relax.  Why not title it, “Life Sucks So Go Blow Your Head Off.” I mean, I’ll see it, but what a title!
