Almost $30M for 300

Friday’s estimate: $27,800,000. Seeing it tomorrow, IMAX-style, so we’ll see if I can get over the lack of character development, thanks to the overabundance of gore and slo-motion. In related 300 news, hear about the Watchman frame snuck inside the online R-rated trailer? Check it out here.

Holmes Out, Gyllenhaal In on the Dark Knight?

I certainly hope not. I like her okay, don’t get me wrong, she’s fine… but I don’t understand why she’s so famous, and why she has to bring down the hot quotient of the new Batman Begins sequel, The Dark Knight. Not that I go to a Christopher Nolan for babes, but isn’t that what […]

David Goyer Off the Flash

First Whedon, now Goyer. Next up, Jon Favreau will storm off Iron Man (and what a shame that’d be)… From ICv2 (an awesome site): According to The Hollywood Reporter Shawn (Night at the Museum) Levy has replaced David Goyer as the director of a movie based on DC Comics character The Flash for Warner Bros. Ghostbusters III:  GB goes CG

Bill Murray has FINALLY AGREED to do Ghosbusters III, a project Dan Aykroyd has been hounding him about for YEARS. But get this, they’re doing it — as a CGI animated project. (Given Murray’s willingness to be Garfield, I suppose he doesn’t mind putting a nail in the GB coffin so long as it only […]

Aardman gets Flushed

Dreamworks flushes Aardman away. While I’m upset for Aardman, I think it might be a blessing in disguise for them. They are great and don’t need the wretched mess that Dreamworks Animation is. Let SKG keep their pandering to the lowest common denominator CGI to themselves. They don’t deserve Aardman’s creativity and never did. READ […]
