Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars movie has just secured a new writer in the form of Steven Knight, the creative force behind the hit TV series Peaky Blinders. This is exciting news for Star Wars fans, as Knight has a proven track record of creating compelling stories that capture audiences’ imaginations. In addition to Peaky Blinders, Knight has written an impressive array of acclaimed films, including the Oscar-nominated Dirty Pretty Things and the recent Princess Diana biopic Spencer. Kristine Stewart in a Star Wars film? Yes please!

With Knight now onboard, replacing Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, we’re hopeful that speaks to Lucasfilm’s confidence in Knight’s abilities. If it’s anything like his prior work, we’re eager to see it and hope he’s secretly a bit of a Jedi ‘Knight.’

Expect to learn more next month at Star Wars Celebration, starting April 7th in London.
