Rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is joining the star-studded cast of Legendary Entertainment’s film adaptation of the classic Capcom video game, Street Fighter. Jackson will bring his talents to the role of Balrog, a disgraced boxer and bodyguard turned villain, set to perform his own stunts onscreen. With an array of diverse actors like Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo, and Joe Anoa’i in the mix, Street Fighter is set to hit production in August.

– Rapper and entrepreneur Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has joined the cast of ‘Street Fighter’, Legendary Entertainment’s film adaptation of the classic Capcom video game, where he will play Balrog, a disgraced boxer and bodyguard of the villain.
– Other celebrities in the cast included Jason Momoa, Noah Centineo and Joe Anoa’i, and the film is directed by Kitao Sakurai, with production starting in August in Australia.
– Outside of the film, Jackson has been successful in the TV industry with several series under his G-Unit Film & Television, and in 2024 he launched 50 Cent Action with Lionsgate, a channel that has been named the top action channel on both Roku and LG FAST platforms.


“Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the renowned rapper turned actor and business magnate, has now signed on to be part of the diverse cast featured in Street Fighter, a movie adaptation brought to the silver screen by Legendary Entertainment, and based on the beloved Capcom video game.

The line-up of talent is startlingly diverse, boasting names like Hollywood A-lister Jason Momoa, who will bring the character Blanka to life, heart-throb Noah Centineo who will play Ken, and unconventional country singer Orville Peck who will step into the role of Vega.

Others on the roster include Joe Anoa’i, better known as WWE superstar Roman Reign, who will play Akuma, and martial artist-turned-actor Andrew Koji, infamous for his role as Warrior, who is set to portray the central character Ryu. Callina Liang of Presence fame will be seen as Chun-Li.

Jackson meanwhile is immersed in preparation for his part as Balrog, a fallen-from-grace boxer who doubles as the antagonist’s bodyguard. It’s understood that he has chosen to perform his own stunts for the role. However, Legendary has remained silent on the matter.

The film is under the directorship of Kitao Sakurai, renowned for The Eric Andre Show, with production set to kick off in Australia in August. Legendary collaborates with Capcom in the development and production of the venture.

Specific details about the storyline are being kept hush-hush for now.

The Street Fighter franchise originated as an arcade game in 1987 and ascended to considerable popularity with Street Fighter II in 1991, which brought about a new era of one-on-one gameplay. Street Fighter 6, the most recent release, came out in June 2023 and scored the award for Best Fighting Game at the 2023 Game Awards.

Jackson, who has sold over 30 million albums and is a Grammy recipient, is distinguished in entertainment circles for building a TV empire through the various Power series on Starz. His G-Unit Film & Television produced For Life on ABC, recently finished production on Black Mafia Family’s fourth season for Starz, as well as the second season of the related docuseries.

In 2024, Jackson collaborated with Lionsgate to launch the 50 Cent Action channel that, since its inception, has been recognized as the top action channel on Roku and LG FAST platforms.
