In the soon-to-be-released movie Don’t Log Off, Ariel Winter is embroiled in a mishap during a birthday celebration. The suspense-filled, screen-life thriller has Brandon Baer and Garrett Baer, the writer-director brothers, at the helm. With a premier in select theaters on July 11th, it is set to release on Video on Demand (VOD) on July 15th. The cast also includes names like Brielle Barbusca from Scandal, Sterling Beaumon from Law & Order True Crime, and Khylin Rhambo from 47 Meters Down: Uncaged among others. Epic Pictures’ horror brand, Dread, has secured the distribution rights of the film.

The plot of Don’t Log Off revolves around the character Annie, portrayed by Ariel Winter of Modern Family fame. Annie has to hustle to locate and save her best friend, who mysteriously disappears during a surprise birthday video call. As each friend starts to suspiciously disappear, a frantic panic ensues to pinpoint the cause behind the vanishing friends. One particular dialogue from the trailer features Brian, played by Rhambo, expressing his doubt over a friend’s honesty.

Brandon and Garrett Baer not only directed the film but also wrote the script for it. Interestingly, Winter along with Beaumon, Benward, Nicole Smolen, and Austin Seltzer were among the producers of the film, with Todd Slater also contributing as a producer under Brick Lane Entertainment.

Winter highlighted the unique fear element of the movie in a prior statement. According to her, the true fear in the film is not just what one sees on the screen, but the unsettling feeling when boundaries between the virtual and real world begin to fade. Winter added her excitement for their collaboration with Epic and Dread and her eagerness for audiences to witness the enigmatic fear that seemed all too real during the film’s production. In her words, Don’t Log Off is a chilling reminder that logging off sometimes might be the most terrifying action!
