The second season of Andor saw the rise of budding star, Elizabeth Dulau, who was cast by creator Tony Gilroy in early 2021. Dulau, a recent graduate from London’s Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), played the character Kleya Marki, initially a “sorcerer’s apprentice” to Stellan Skarsgård’s Luthen Rael, a part-time antiquities dealer and full-time shadowy leader of the emerging Rebellion.

Season two revealed the tragic backstory of Kleya and Luthen’s relationship. Luthen, a former Imperial Sargeant, experienced a crisis of conscience during a genocidal attack on Kleya’s homeplanet. Meanwhile, Gilroy praised Dulau’s acting skills: “By the time we finished season one, everyone on our whole show was just in awe [of Elizabeth]. We don’t have a moment of bad film on her.” Andor season two is currently streaming on Disney+.
