The sequel to the 2019 horror-comedy film Ready or Not by Searchlight Pictures, titled Ready or Not: Here I Come, is set to be released in theaters on April 10, 2026. Alongside series star Samara Weaving, the film will feature newcomers Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood. The return of director duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett has been confirmed, alongside writers Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy. The film’s cast will be rounded out by Kathryn Newton, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand and Olivia Cheng, among others. The sequel is set to be produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak.


‘Ready or Not: Here I Come’ Sequel Set for April 2026

– Searchlight Pictures announced its sequel to the 2019 movie Ready or Not, titled Ready or Not: Here I Come, will release on April 10, 2026.

– The sequel is produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak with executive producers including Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Paul Neinstein, Busick, Murphy and Weaving.
– The plot details are being kept secret, and the sequel is being supervised for Searchlight by Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh.
– The original movie, Ready or Not, featuring Weaving as a bride involved in a murderous game was moderately successful, grossing over $57 million against a $6 million budget.


The sequel to the 2019 horror comedy flick ‘Ready or Not’ from Searchlight Pictures, is set to be released into theaters on April 10, 2026, the studio confirmed on Thursday. The title of the anticipated sequel, ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come’, will feature Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood joining the original series star, Samara Weaving.

Both Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who are part of the Radio Silence team, will return to helm the direction of the sequel. The original writers for the first film, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, will also be returning to pen the script for ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come’.

The filming process had begun earlier in the spring and the cast has now been finalized. Joining the franchise are Kathryn Newton, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, Kevin Durand (Abigail) and Olivia Cheng. Notably, esteemed horror film director, David Cronenberg has also been added to the ensemble.

The sequel is a production of Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak. The executive producers comprising of Chad Villella, Tara Farney, Greg Denny, Paul Neinstein, Busick, Murphy and Weaving, will also play a role in the project. Oversight of ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come’ project will be done by Richard Ruiz and Cornelia Burleigh from Searchlight.

Though details about the movie’s storyline are tightly guarded, the producers have confirmed that the sequel will also be produced by Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, Bradley J. Fischer and William Sherak, as with the first film.

Matthew Greenfield, the president of Searchlight, shared his enthusiasm about the upcoming project. He stated, “To team up once more with the extraordinary Radio Silence, for ‘Ready or Not: Here I Come’, is quite electrifying. Incorporating Samara Weaving’s incredible performance, along with unique, new contributors, we’re set to present the audience with a novel instalment that’s equally as warped and pleasurable as the initial film. This is a gift for both those who’ve been eagerly anticipating the sequel and those who’ll be taken by surprise.”

The first ‘Ready or Not’ movie cast Weaving as a new bride whp discovers a horrifying family habit – a lethal game performed on the wedding night – all done to satisfy an aged family pact with the devil. The film, despite its eccentric concept, was received well both critically and commercially. It managed to rake in a domestic box office collection of $28 million and a total worldwide earnings of over $57 million, greatly outweighing its $6 million budget.
