โ Robert Pattinson revealed that he has not seen any progress on The Batman sequel, hinting at a possible change to the eyes of his cowl.
โ Pattinson discussed the distinct smells of the different actors who previously played Batman during the audition process.
โ The release date for The Batman sequel is currently set for October 1, 2027.
Fans eagerly awaiting updates on The Batman sequel may have to wait a little longer, as the project remains shrouded in mystery. With the recent delay announcement, enthusiasts have been scouring the internet for even the tiniest details to tide them over until production leaks or news of spin-off shows such as The Penguin surface. Some enthusiasts have even begun speculating that Robert Pattinson, the lead actor, might venture into the wider DC Universe!
While promoting his upcoming film Mickey-17, Pattinson has been bombarded with questions about the highly anticipated Batman sequel. Unfortunately, even the actor himself seems to be in the dark about the future of his character. However, he did offer a subtle hint that the eyes of his iconic cowl might undergo some changes upon his return.
When asked about the progress of The Batman sequel, Pattinson replied, โI havenโt seen anything yet, so I have no idea. But I think maybeโฆ a little more iris?โ
Interestingly, Pattinson also shared an intriguing tidbit about another aspect of the Batman persona: scent. He revealed that during the audition process for The Batman, he had the chance to try on various batsuits. To his surprise, each suit had the lingering aroma of its previous wearer baked into the leather.
โThe scent of the cowl, especially with Batman, is quite noticeable. Well, itโs leather. But itโs also a combination โ because youโre sealed in a leather mask, but youโre also extremely anxious all the time. And leather is porous, so it really takes on an emotional scent.โ
Pattinson further added, โWhen I did the audition for Batman, I had to try on all the different cowls from actors whoโd previously portrayed the role. Even from 20 years ago, they all still had the distinct smell of each individual actor. Itโs quite peculiar. I think Clooney probably smelled the best.โ
Itโs understandable that Pattinson would have tried on different batsuits during the audition process, given what fans know about the rigorous casting rituals for superhero roles. However, considering the considerable time elapsed since his first outing as the Caped Crusader, one can only hope that his scent hasnโt been maturing all this while.
