Universal Pictures has successfully acquired the rights to “A Vicious Circle,” an enthralling graphic novel series from Boom! Studios, springing from the imaginative mind of “Terminator Zero” showrunner Mattson Tomlin, in creative collaboration with artist Lee Bermejo. The deal spotlights Universal’s ongoing investment in sourcing diverse and dynamic storytelling capable of captivating audiences with graphic visual storytelling.

Mattson Tomlin, whose narrative prowess has been recognized in the entertainment industry, will be adapting his brainchild for the big screen, ensuring a level of authenticity and fidelity to the original work that fans will undoubtedly appreciate. Joining forces with Tomlin in the project is the critically acclaimed filmmaker Ryan Coogler, known for his directorial brilliance in the “Black Panther” franchise. Coogler will produce the adaptation under the Proximity Media banner alongside colleagues Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler as well as Stephen Christy, Boom!’s head of development.
