For some reason, kept reading about this film.  Maybe it has come up
in search engines lately because of Rodriguez’s involvement..so I
Netflix’d it.

Have to say…pretty damn good for a small DV film.  Jonathan
Jakubowicz uses multiple DV cams, tons of coverage, inventive angles
and wild color correction to make a pretty visceral film.  There’s
another film out there that I recommend that is similar in style and
does it a little better..called “Cavite”..check it out.
Anyway, film is about …from IMDB..”Young couple Carla (Maestro) and
Martin (Leroux) are abducted by three men and spend a terrifying night
in Caracas as they wait for Carla’s father (Blades) to hand over the
ransom.”
Kinda romanticizes the abductors if you ask me… but like “City of
God” comes across so much like a fantasy that it is acceptable.  MÃÂa
Maestro is gorgeous and is almost worth rental for her. This is the
top grossing movie in Venezuela’s box office history, btw.
Put it in your Netflix queue.
