Blade 2

I kinda knew what to expect from this film although I’ve heard for years that some consider this better than the original. (Spoilers)

I hate everything about this film.  Guillermo del Toro is extremely over-rated.  What a piece of crap.

Casting – awful.. Leonor Varela is a stiff as you can get. Â
Cinematography – the first one looked so good..such a mature look as compared to this film… here, Del Toro overuses the colors…and why go to 1:85 after the gorgeous 2:35 of the first.
Script – so many holes and inconsistencies that I won’t even begin to list them here..waste of my time and yours.
Action – lots of it..but so what…. you don’t care about who’s fighting who.

I hate this film…it blows.

I’ll take your word on this, but Pan’s Labyrinth still rules.  Hope you don’t think that one is overrated.

WOW!  Now i finally know what it’s like to agree with Bake Snaker!  Bake – you are spot on here.  The original Blade was jolly good fun.  Everything that worked about it was lost in the follow-up.  Del Toro is an over-rated monster of a man.  The only way anyone would have any right in saying Blade II is good is if it is being compared against the third.

I dont know who told you this was better than the original, I’d never heard that.  Yeah, forgettable and silly.  Great makeup fx are pretty much the only standout.  I’m still a fan of the original movie.  I thought it was a welcome surprise and a hell of a good time, I still remember it vividly and think that along with the Buffy series, it was responsible for making vampires en vogue again, starting with that first club scene which is now done to death in every vamp flick since.  I found each sequel progressively worse.  The third has some bizarre indie film casting (parker posey, ryan reynolds, natasha leone?) and a drug-addled Snipes.

The recent tv series was better (especially by the second half) than I’d ever thought possible, but I’m biased since the main character was named after my fiancee, a detail I will never get tired of pointing out.  Too bad it got cancelled.  Maybe if they hadn’t killed vamp-dust junky Danny Milano in the first episode, the series woulda been a hit.

Sigh… my fifteen minutes, gone so quickly.  smile

Blade was okay, watchable and occasionally fun.

I actually dug Blade 2, up until the part where they had to have a double-cross.  At that point, the movie sucked, but I’d still say it’s my favorite of the trilogy.

Trinity is ridiculously lame, except for the part where Biel programs her iPod.  That was hottt!
