I didn’t really care for the Hellboy movie adaptation. I thought the casting was great, the effects and look of the film awesome — but it just didn’t work for me. The comics are excellent, highly recommended to those who haven’t explored that world. Since the movie sputtered, Sony dropped the project, but now Universal is picking it up to produce the second movie. So far, while it’s a script penned by Guillermo Del Toro, no director has been tapped — which could mean Del Toro’s not onboard, which I kinda like.
