John In the Future

Based on John Chateski, the little boy (now a late teen) who stole our hearts every year at the MDA telethon… This radio adventure was fully scripted but never saw the light of day.

Little Danny and the Greyscale Rainbow Chronicles

CHAPTER THREE: DANNY DOES DARKNESS

Then, suddenly with a great QUA-POOF from the ancients, Head of Connery appeared and dispersed Dark Vapor with a blow of his magic breathe. Little Danny rubbed the stank from his eyes and saw that help had finally come. Donkeygosh had made it back to the Town of Village and delivered Danny’s message!

“Greetings Little Danny,” said the Duke of Foxes, “We have heard your plea and have come to aid you in your quest!”

Hans Zimmer to score The Simpsons feature film

(Soundtrack.net) – Hans Zimmer is expected to write the score for the feature film version of The Simpsons. As a long-time composer for James Brooks – who produces the hit television show – Zimmer is an unlikely choice, as most people were expecting television series composer Alf Clausen (or even Danny Elfman, who wrote the main theme nearly 19 years ago) to be frontrunners.

Pirates 2 – LAST Happy Meal Toys by Disney

By opting not to renew its global marketing alliance with McDonald’s as well as radically rethinking the types of food products that its characters will now be allowed to help promote, the Walt Disney Company is hoping that it will be able to avoid being sucked into the pending “Big Food” litigation.

If you’re into collecting somewhat unique Disney collectibles, you may want to pick up a set of the “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” toys that your local McDonald’s will be selling later this summer.

Hatchet.  Bury it.

Saw Hatchet at the Tribeca Film Festival last night. While its intentions of being an 80’s style slasher are good, the film fails on every level. A monumental waste of a premise that COULD have achieved what it set out to, if only not for how unfathomably sloppy the whole thing is thrown together. Shame on this movie. Avoid at all costs.

Calvaire (aka The Ordeal)

calvaire.jpg

This film is kind of a let down because it ends so abruptly that it seems like they simply cut off the last 20 minutes of the film. It has a beautiful look… great casting..menacing style and tone…shot by the cinematography of “Irreversible.” I am just upset because it so close to being great and then boom..over. See it if you’re a fan of “Deliverence”, “Last House on the Left”, and all those other films of that genre…. too bad….but definately look out for this director’s next film.

You can find copies on ebay… hasn’t been released in US yet…also there are copies floating around Chinatown for $5.

Kingdom Hearts II sells a million

Holy cow… in 4 weeks, the sequel to Kingdom Hearts has sold 1 million units. Try to remember, that’s 1 million people paying $50 a pop. Amazing success story. Haven’t played it yet, because Chris won’t let me have my PS2 back, but some day, it will be glorious!

In related news, started playing the Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie’s Revenge game, and while it’s not revolutionary, it’s pretty faithful to the movie (even if some of the voice acting isn’t). What’s really cool about it is that in game they sing new lyrics to familiar tunes.

Finally, a movie that looks great!

The teaser for Casino Royale has just premiered, and I have to say, it looks awesome. Martin Campbell’s back in the saddle (his work on GoldenEye made that Bond premiere shine) and I didn’t realize that the story is a Bond origin story. Daniel Craig, yeah, he’s not as pretty as Brosnan, but he’s rugged and I think he fits the bill.

Watch the teaser here:
