Video Game Characters Turn to Acting

One of the greatest sites on the web, Something Awful, has put out a wonderful feature that basically is video game character crossovers with movies and TV shows. This one in particular our pal Rommel would love, if he ever actually visited EG. My other favorite: Grosse Point Blanka. Check out the rest here.

Wikipedia Spoof Celebrates 750 Years of Independence

I love The Onion almost as much as I love the erroneous entries on Wikipedia. Their latest article lampoons the user-influenced encyclopedia, including one classic excerpt: “On July 25, 1256, delegates gathered at Comerica Park to sign the Declaration Of Independence, which rejected the rule of the British over its 15 coastal North American colonies,” [...]

Real-Life Pirates spotted outside World of Disney

When I went to the World of Disney store on 55th & 5th on Friday to check out the Pirates Opening Day festivities… …I noticed real Pirates right outside the store… …only a few feet away from these beasties… Life imitates art yet again!

Jim Henson’s 1965 film, TIMEPIECE

Saw this in NYC with Spencer at a special exhibition by Henson’s widow — that exhibition led very directly to the genesis of Greg the Bunny and “Junktape.” The pace, editing style and use of animation employs much of what went into Henson’s early TV commercials, and of course the mixed media aspects of shows [...]

Fun Puppet Video

Found this on the MySpace page of a GTB fan. I recognized it immediately as one of the first puppet projects by Mike Mitchell, director of “Sky High,” and a great guy. He directed much of our GTB Fox episodes. Or rather he tried to direct them while Steve Levitan raped him creatively.

The Important Stuff.

Now that Deadwood is starting up again, it’s time for a recap. Courtesy of WFMU, Seven Minutes In Deadwood, or for those of you with really short attention spans, 30 Seconds Over Deadwood. If you’re listening to these at work, make sure you crank up your speakers to 11. – Roger

More Star Wars Toys

This Titanium Series looks pretty wild, and I’m no rabid toy collector like our pal, Junktape. And better yet, Transformers and Battlestar Galactica toys are on the way! I hope they offer an Edward James Olmos figure! STAND AND DELIVER, indeed! See the slick site here.

Watch out, here he comes

Get ready because here comes the best movie ever made. Who’s with me? How can this NOT be the funniest movie ever made? You see, Marlon, he’s a man but everybody thinks he’s a baby so he gets to get away with sucking boobies and pooping himself. It’s going to be awesome!
