For those of you have never watched MTV’s ahead-of-its-time, yet short-lived sketch comedy series THE STATE, you would do yourself a great service by clicking here and enjoying the show that gave birth to the careers of the likes of David Wain, Micheal Ian Black, Micheal Showalter, Ken Marino, Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, not to mention countless others.

With Childrens Hospital now in its fifth season on Adult Swim, fans have plenty to enjoy throughout the next few weeks. But the fun is not limited to the small screen. Three– yes, THREE feature films featuring members of the cast of Childrens along with former members of The State will be released in August and September.

The first up is IN A WORLD, already in theaters, about an underachieving vocal coach is motivated by her father, the king of movie-trailer voice-overs, to pursue her aspirations of becoming a voiceover star. Amidst pride, sexism and family dysfunction, she sets out to change the voice of a generation. Lake Bell’s feature-length directorial debut is sweet and one of the year’s best films and biggest surprises, and we here at EG are glad we live in a world where Ms. Bell’s “In A World” exists!
