Most who travel to Las Vegas spend their time on The Strip, never venturing downtown to what is now known as “The Freemont Street Experience.” And while it is kitchy fun that should not be missed (The Plaza hotel stands at the top of it, better known as “Biff’s Pleasure Palace” from “Back to the Future Part II”) — perhaps more tourists would venture to this downtown destination had it not been for Paramount Studios CEO Stanley Jaffe back in the early 90s…

Now, The Goddard Group Blog reveals that “the real winner of the 1992 downtown Las Vegas redevelopment competition was NOT the FREMONT EXPERIENCE – it was the STARSHIP ENTERPRISE from STAR TREK. But no one knows this – until now.”

Read this fascinating account HERE. Really too bad. Stanley Jaffe was a real small-minded douche apparently. This could’ve been pretty unbelievable, as well as something with a much longer appeal to tourists than The Fremont Experience.
