Trey Parker’s Universal Studios Short

Share

Way back in a time before South Park, Universal Studios was purchased by the Seagram Company. And during that time in 1995 Trey Parker and Matt Stone somehow manged to get themselves hired to make “Your Studio and You,” an internal film for the studio.

The film Stephen Spielberg as a Universal Tour Guide, James Cameron, and Jeffery Katzenberg among many other surprise celebrity guests in the “Universal Family.” It was commissioned to be written and directed by Stone and Parker, and then new owner Edgar Bronfman Jr wasn’t impressed and buried it.

I’m still not sure how all these people agreed to be in this thing, or how this even exists, exactly – but we can all watch it and just be glad that it does.

that’s the best. Sly’s comment about the black tower made me laugh for an hour. And its interesting to see all adult stars get treated poorly by lackeys at the gate eh chris.

I actually really do like the deer idea.

It was made for an “Executive Retreat” of Universal brass — to show during the Seagram’s purchase (and subsequent huge restructuring) that they were “hipper and cooler”. I worked at the studio at the time — didn’t go to the retreat, but this spread via VHS (!) like wildfire in the weeks that followed.
