I finished the whole first season and while I enjoyed watching it, I don’t feel like it’s anything special. I like her though, always have, so I’ll stand by her but I dunno. I wish it made more of an impression.

Whoever you are “hearing” things from hasn’t seen the show. Stop listening to them. Yes, little Rose is all grown up. I leave it at that.

In all fairness, the show is definitely going for a Sex and the City-vibe instead of a Traffic one, so it’s going to be light with a little bit of dramatic weight. The guys are going to be normal with quirks, just as they were on SOTC (oh god, I’m admitting I watched that show… a lot), but the more I think about it, the more I feel it’s destined to fail as a mass product on Showtime.

I get the sense that ladies don’t want to watch a show about prostitution, no matter why she’s doing it; it’s just too icky. So that leaves guys like us having to sneak in episodes here and there. So at best, we’re talking Red Shoe Diaries. At worst, it’s Night Calls.

I haven’t seen this yet, but from what I’ve heard, it makes whoring look downright pleasant. Like, every guy is a handsome, but misunderstood rich guy who just wants to rub her feet, or something, instead of the kind of gross sacks who typically solicit whores.

But it’s Billie, so I’m willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.
