Soundtrack of the Week: Beowulf

When I heard the electric guitar kick in over the Paramount logo, I knew the Beowulf score was going to be special. Alan Silvestri’s Beowulf theme is pretty powerful, and I love blasting it in the car as the bass shakes the tires. I wish there was more of a mix between that hard rock and the traditional brassy score, but whatcha gonna do. Equally good is the haunting themes that surround Grendel’s mother and Beowulf, which sends chills up my spine when I hear it, in all the best ways. Come see what I mean:
