This video was cut on one of the first vhs control systems, which was available to me in my high school. I was able to set in and out points in the timecode.

At the time many of these movies were not yet available on video and their clips were taken from trailers and entertainment shows. Notice in the clip of Ghostbusters II (the one with flying chairs) that the ghostbusters are firing their guns, but the F/X of the streams had not yet been put in by ILM.

I was clearly obsessed with SCTV and SNL.

More of these videos followed as I entered my college years, but were created entirely using two VHS decks (belonging to Chris Bergoch.)

One of them, using clips from Terminator 2 and the Van Halen song, “Judgement Day,” is also available on Youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt0O_nZuZnw

Other videos were made for movies like “Ford Fairlane,” “Nothing but Trouble,” and the “Back to the Future” and “Waxwork” films. All will be made available here in the months to come.

Thanks to Eric for allowing me to revisit my past.
